Friends of Parkwood Surgery

About Us

The Friends of Parkwood Surgery, referred to as “FPS”, is the patient group for Parkwood Drive Surgery in Hemel Hempstead.

Established in 2010, FPS was created before it become mandatory for all GP practices to have patient groups, because we could see the benefit of enabling patients to contribute their thoughts, ideas and feedback to help the practice.

The FPS Committee consists of a few Parkwood Patients who volunteer their time to engage with the surgery, bringing their skills and enthusiasm to the team to define FPS objectives and initiatives and put them into practice; we usually have around 12 people on the committee at any time.

We have supported the surgery with their ‘flu clinics and patient surveys; we have presented ideas and suggestions from patients to help improve services; we have supported patients through local health talks and exercise classes; and we have raised funds to help purchase items that benefit all patients, that the surgery might not otherwise have been able to obtain.
